Uttarakhand Circle GDS to MTS Result 2024: The long wait for the results of the Competitive Examination (CE) recruitment to the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) cadre in the Uttarakhand Circle has ended. This recruitment, mainly GDS to MTS Result 2024 of Uttarakhand Circle, was in place to fill the GDS vacancies for the vacancy year 2024. Background of GDS to MTS Recruitment of Uttarakhand Circle Result 2024

The Directorate had already published the recruitment notification for MTS on 10th July 2024. The same was issued based on the Directorate’s letter No. A-34012/03/2024-DE. Above notification was put up according to which Uttarakhand Circle has officially notified on 15th July 2024 with notification number Rectt./ 2-5/2024 for calling applications from the eligible candidates of GDS for cadre vacancies in the MTS.

This was the recruitment by the Directorate’s updated guidelines that were released on 5th April 2022 and 19th December 2022. In the guidelines, it was clearly stated that the selection from the GDS cadre of the MTS candidates should be solely based on scores obtained from Paper-I which had an explicit qualifying criteria to have category-wise fair selection.

Exam and Qualifying Criteria

The MTS recruitment CE examination was in multiple papers, but as per the rules of the Directorate, the qualifying scores are only those of Paper-I. The following is the detail of qualifying marks for different categories:

Note: Two questions in Paper-I were deleted following recommendation of moderation committee with a nod from the paper setter. The final answer key, taking into account such deletions, was announced on the official India Post website. Scores of all candidates were adjusted to accommodate this; the maximum score was 96.

Stricter qualifying criteria ensured only those candidates who scored and exceeded those scores were made eligible for the merit list.

Preparation of Selection Process and Merit List

The Directorate prepares only one Circle-wide merit list, after performance of candidates in Paper-I for the selection of candidates for GDS to MTS 2024. The entire process of selection and allotment was as follows:

  • Merit Based List: Candidates were ranked in Circle-level merit lists keeping in view scores drawn by them in Paper-I
  • Category and Preference: Allocations to the Divisions/Units were made based upon category and preference of each candidate along with the availability of vacancies.
  • Tie-Breaking Criteria: The rank in Paper-I has been awarded strictly as per instructions contained in letter No. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11th December 2020 of the Directorate.

Results of some candidates are kept in abeyance as their documents, such as valid OBC certificates, are still awaited. The concerned candidates have been intimated and they are required to submit their documents for final confirmation.

Important Instructions for Divisional and Appointing Authorities

The Uttarakhand Circle has provided detailed guidelines for the Divisional Heads as well as the shortlisted candidates for a smooth appointment process:

  • Verification of Eligibility: The details about caste and category will have to be verified at the divisional level, mainly SC/ST/OBC/EWS. This ensures proper eligibility and avoids mismatches.
  • Discrepancy: In case any mismatch is noticed in regard to candidate or vacancy information, it must be reported immediately to the Circle Office.
  • Confirmation of Eligibility: A candidate’s name would be removed from the list of selected candidates if it is later found that he or she is not eligible. It also includes cases wherein errors in merit calculation or eligibility verification are established after declaration of results.
  • Date of Joining: The confirmed candidates will join within seven days from the date of receiving their offer. Candidates on leave can defer their joining after the expiry of their leave, provided they are willing to join and confirm in writing.

Divisions also have to ensure that offers of appointment contain a clause stating that if the candidature is not accepted or joined within the stipulated time, it shall deem to be treated as refusal whereby the next available candidate selected for the post will have to be offered the offer of appointment.

Refusal needs to be communicated through 11th November, 2024 so replacement can be made in timely manner by the Circle office.

Accessing OMR Answer Sheets

Those applicants who want to see their OMR answer sheets may approach the commission under the RTI Act, 2005. There will be a ₹25 per paper and an application fee of ₹10.

  • Application Required: All applications addressed to CPIO/APMG (S&R), Chief Postmaster General’s Office, Uttarakhand Circle, Dehradun accompanied by the counter foil receipt of fee along with two postal stamps in case it is sent through ordinary post will be treated.
  • Eligibility: Candidates will only be granted the photocopies of the OMR sheet if the candidates are present at the examination centre on the date.
  • Retention period: The copy of OMR sheets retained for a year after results are announced. Applications taken beyond a one-year duration from result would not be considered and photocopied would not be issued to applicants  List of Applicants selected.

Appointment Instructions

Following is what has come out as a set of guidelines by Appointing Authorities for the Divisional Heads for organized appointment

  • Eligibility and Verification: The credentials of each selected candidate must be verified by the divisional authority, which may include caste certificates, educational qualifications, and service records.
  • Non Eligible Candidates: If, at the time of verification, it is found that a selected candidate does not fulfill the eligibility or some discrepancy is found in it, then the Circle Office may be intimated for necessary action for correction.
  • Offer and Follow-up: The authorities must make timely offers, and where the candidates are reluctant to join, must urge them to issue a refusal in writing.
