BSNL Network Glitch Leaves 48 Chennai Post Offices Paralyzed: Villagers Struggle Without Key Services
BSNL Network Glitch: Chennai, 09.11.2024: Thousands have been affected as the 48 post offices in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and Tiruvallur are near a standstill following network issues in BSNL. Its residents who rely on these branches for most basic services, such as transactions in India Post Payments Bank, money orders, and even the most basic mailing options like speed post and registered post, are unable to move.
For over four days, this issue has not wavered, hugely affecting the major zones like Tambaram and Kancheepuram and the key divisions in Chennai, including Central, North, and South. Among the most adversely affected are postal office units in areas that include Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Arumbakkam, and Chintadripet-landscapes of local residents and mainly industrial workers depending on these facilities.
The suffering of the downtrodden is being causing an irreparable harm in the people. For the past four days, the network in the post office has not been functioning. A large number of residents, especially villagers, are finding it difficult to avail the services. said Raghavendra Bhat Kadekar from Kakkalur
The main obstacle, however has been the language, which separates such patients from the non-Tamil-speaking staff, as most of the villagers speak Tamil only. According to officials in India Post, the problem was caused by BSNL network fault all over the region, which would be sorted out by Monday. BSNL responded saying it was a transition issue since India Post’s main network needs had, in the past, been handled by a private provider before BSNL took full responsibility for handling. The state provider assured that the problem would be sorted out in the next few days. This indicates a high dependency on secure network infrastructure while taking the incident to ensure necessary postal services in these communities.
