IPPB Performance as on October 2024 Report: India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) Transforming Financial Inclusion with Over 6.8 Million Accounts and Expanding Services Across 650+ Branches in India. India Post Payments Bank, under the Department of Posts, is doing wonders in changing the financial landscape of India. With a nationwide network of 650 branches and more than 1.63 lakh access points through post offices, IPPB ensures that financial services reach even the most remote corners of the country.

Outreach by IPPB: 6,80,794 Accounts Opened in Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad)
Until date, as of October 2024, IPPB has done well in account base expansion. The key milestone has been opening of 6,80,794 accounts in Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad district, Maharashtra. It indicates how hard IPPB is working to increase financial inclusion mainly in rural and under-privileged regions.
IPPB’s Outreach Across States
India Post Payments Bank is continuously expanding its system and services network across India. Some of the most important states where IPPB has made a notable contribution towards this goal:
- Madhya Pradesh: Over 69.66 lakh accounts opened, serving 32.23 lakh DBT beneficiaries.
- Karnataka: Almost 59.04 lakh accounts and 16.04 lakh DBT beneficiaries.
- Maharashtra: More than 163.13 lakh accounts with 79.5 lakh DBT beneficiaries.
- Dadra and Nagar Haveli: Low but educative growth with 0.08 lakh DBT beneficiaries.
The bank particularly focuses on making access easy to government schemes, like Direct Benefit Transfers, Digital Life Certificates, and Aadhaar mobile number updation. IPPB brought handheld mobile devices for attaining doorstep services that are comparatively easier to avail these services at people’s doorsteps also even in remote rural areas.
Role of IPPB in Financial Inclusion of Rural India
To promote financial inclusion, IPPB has been conducting awareness camps, especially in rural areas, to educate the public about its products and services. With the installation of IPPB branded signage across post offices, the bank ensures that people are informed about the availability of banking services at their local post office.
