The examination was conducted for the year 2024, in accordance with the vacancy notified between 01.01.2024 and 31.12.2024, which was held on August 25, 2024. GDS to MTS Competitive Exam 2024 Result

The MTS recruitment examination is a common, single examination for appointment from Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) to Postman, Mail Guard, and MTS cadres. The present examination is in tune with the pattern of the MTS Recruitment Rules, 2018, as modified by subsequent amendments.

All recruiting shall be conducted in the guideline published by the Directorate on standards relating to recruitment, SOP- released within August 2022 while continuing from meritorious selection principles set from postal Directories.

Eligibility criteria for the shortlisted candidates

The following were instructions left for the selected candidates and also the divisional heads:

Verification of Information: Regional and divisional offices check the eligibility and documents of all candidates selected. Even any discrepancy with ineligibility may call for cancellation of selection for his candidate.

Provisional Appointment Orders: Provisional appointment orders should be issued to all successful candidates by December 2, 2024, by divisional heads. Instead of the term “appointment promotion,” the word “appointment” should be clearly used.

Category Authentication: Reserved category candidates SC/ST/OBC/EWS should have caste certificates, which are to be verified in the government prescribed format.

De Selection Declination: Candidates who wish to decline selection shall submit a declaration with the Board by November 30, 2024.

Pending Cases: Candidates who are under departmental enquiries/disci- plinary cases cannot be given any immediate appointments. They should be referred to the Circle Office for further instructions.

Guidelines for Heads of Divisions

Before issuing appointment letters, the divisional/unit heads must

  • Check if the applicant meets all the criteria of eligibility mandated by MTS Recruitment Rules, 2018.
  • No provisional appointment shall be made without regularizing the selection status of the applicants.
  • Ensure that all pre-appointment formalities, including verification of caste and educational qualifications, are completed.

Besides, the government norms now confirm the selection of candidates belonging to reserved categories through caste certificates.

Discontinuation of Revaluation Requests

Since the examination was taken through OMR answer sheets, revaluation or re-totalization of marks demand will not be considered by the Postal Directorate; however, the candidates may apply under the RTI Act 2005 for getting photocopy of their OMR answer sheets at an applicable fee of ₹25 per paper.
